Adopt a family
We believe that our families and their needs come first. This means that all financial resources are primarily allocated to provide the services we have promised these families. 2nd Chance Adopt a Family is a registered non-profitable organisation. Like all other NPC’s in South Africa; we are dependent on government, corporate, private businesses and individuals for most of our funding and this includes my friends, who up until now has made it possible with the planting of their seeds. We accept all kind of donations like bedding, clothing, curtains, non-perishable food items and toiletries. All left-over items are then sold to generate income towards our organisation.
How you can help
Donate your time with educating our families with your knowledge that may benefit them in the future. Help with fixing building structures like painting and other building necessities as well as assisting with making and delivering food parcels for our families. Vision
Is to help as many households in a calendar year in the Western Cape. Also, to help children be children and let parents remain the providers to their families. To build storehouses in every area in Cape town. To see families become stable and functional in communities and society.
Mission Statement
By building community bakeries to provide employment and a daily staple to our adopted families in order to restore parents as the providers. By building storehouses in all areas in Cape Town so that our adopted families are supported on a weekly basis, with non-perishable food. Ultimately, the Vision is to equip families with resources to improve and better their lives.
Objectives
To establish families in communities and let them become providers for their communities after they have become stable
Building storehouses in all areas of Cape Town
Build a bakery to create jobs and to provide for our adopted families and the community
Identify, through research…. the correct intervention required based on each family’s need and then create their specific module in order to aid
Creating extra focus for the children’s education development
Develop effective networking relationships with other organisations in the areas
Help unemployed parents find work again or training them with new skills to become providers

Shane Crow
Founder of 2nd Chance Adopt a Family
I had my own life challenges and overcame these by becoming a 2nd chance in many people’s lives. Here is a small true-life story. Adopt a Family was born through challenges that I have experienced during my upbringing since the age of 10. Working since a young age to support my single mother that never worked since the day I was born. Looking after my family whilst attending school was very tough. I had to leave school due to our hardships. Through my journey I have come to realise that with the support of the community we can make it easier on other families having to face the same challenges. We can together assist to rebuild, restore dignity and self-belief by walking side by side with a family to encourage and motivate them to become part of society and in this way pay it forward, One Family at a time.
In these struggling times, be part of 2nd Chance Adopt a Family and create a sustainable way of life for all of us and build a stronger community. Planning for growth and sustainability of 2nd Chance Adopt a Family starts with new partnerships in building bakeries and storehouses in all areas. Fundraising and Networking of these building replicas are part of this bigger vision.

I joined this organisation to help my husband. More importantly, because I truly believe in his Vision. We have been on this journey for a very long time, since before we got married. As time went on we could see the impact it was making in people’s lives but also realised that the impact we could make could be so much bigger if we opened a structured organisation, and we did. To help families regain a sense of worth and dignity in order to leave behind their own legacy, is a fundamental goal for me. Helping one family at a time.
